Winter is almost here and the days are appropriately short, dark and often wet. Are you a bit concerned about what you are going to do with your kids during those two weeks off from preschool? So am I.
During our last 3-5s parent meeting, someone had the brilliant idea of brainstorming activity and adventure ideas for the break. Hopefully these lists will be as useful for the entire Sandhurst community as they undoubtedly will be for me!
Activities
• Homemade Silly Putty (or Flarp!)
• Create an obstacle course
• Robots (or anything!) made out of recycling materials
• Make popsicle stick puppets of characters from your favorite picture book and act out the story
• Play hide the object (we always called this “Huckle Buckle Beanstalk” which we shout upon finding the object)
• Make pretend “soup” (my son uses random spices and scraps from whatever I’m cooking – a little gross but lots of fun)
Adventures
• Play dates!
• Puddle jumping
• Arena Sports Bouncy Houses
• Zoomazium at Woodland Park Zoo
• Mohai
