The toddler parents have been trying to figure out the lyrics to A House is a House for Me since the beginning of the school year, and it sounds like the Pre-3 families are now learning it too. Here is a cheat sheet for you to study! This song is based on the the book by the same title by Mary Anne Hoberman.
A House is a House for Me
A nest is a house for a baby bird,
And a hive is a house for a bee,
A den is a house for a fox or a bear,
And a house is a house for me.
A hole in the ground is a house for a mole,
And a house for a whale is the sea,
A barn is a house for a pig or a cow,
And a house is a house for me.
An iceberg is a house for a baby seal,
And a house for a monkey is a tree,
A plain is a house for a lion or a zebra,
And a house is a house for me.
This last verse was conceived of by an alumni parent. Perhaps you and your child could come up with a fourth verse all your own!
