As summer is fast approaching, I have been putting together my list of things to do once it gets too hot to stay in doors. I have memories of being stuck in our Seattle house last summer with no a/c, and a cranky toddler, googling last minute ideas to beat the heat. This summer I am ready! Here is a short list of some of our favorites for you to try.

U Village Spray Fountain
– Although it’s small, the fountain is surrounded by tables with umbrellas for parents to watch and enjoy an iced Starbucks. Very nearby is also Menchies yogurt and Molly Moon’s for a cold treat.

Snohomish Aquatic Center – A bit of a drive north, but this new indoor pool is well worth it for those hot days when it’s better to be inside. Kids can spend the whole day swimming in the lazy river, sliding down the giant waterside, and cooling off in the spray area.

Seattle Spray Parks – follow the link for a complete list of the areas spray parks. A great option for warm days. Bring lunch and make it a picnic!

Jetty Island – Take a short ferry ride to this sandy oasis and let your kids dig away! This island has 2 miles of sandy beach for hours of fun. The ferry leaves from the Port of Everett, check ferry times using the link above.

Blueberry Picking – A perfect summer activity, berry picking keeps kids busy for hours and is a fun way to stay out of the house. Blueberries are our favorites, but check out these places for strawberries also!
